(January 2007)As I grow older,it often seems to me that my world of yesteryear filled with endearing,joyful memories,has more to offer than the veiled uncertain one which lies before me.For my heart is seldom at peace in the ever widening and demanding domain of the ill mannered and ignorant and often seeks refuge in the thoughts of a carefree youth and the blissful untroubled waters which encompassed it.As life passes by with such astonishing speed,leaving me with so little to offer and so much to regret and those fickle fellows,the warm glow and the exhuberance of my younger days abandon me with increasing swiftness,I reflect on the things from which I now seek contentment.The company of a girl,plucked selfishly from her own sweet world and the occasional meaningful gestures from my family and a few caring, trusted and treasured friends who accept me for the ageing charlatan that I am.
