emotions of a lifetime, I thought that I would bear
the scar forever. Often, when I pictured her face,
pain was quick to greet me and grief was
a willing bedfellow.
Yet sometimes now when I think of her, the
torment leaves and I am touched by a familiar
gentleness. My heart gladdens a little, my pulse is
at ease and I remember only the complete
fulfillment that she once gifted unto me.
On such occasions I am able to accept,
that one day, even without her, I will be at peace.
